“We all want to be loved, don’t we? Everyone looks for a way of finding love.
It’s a constant search for affection in every walk of life.”
In that one statement she goes straight to heart of the human heart. Deep down we all just long to be loved.
To be seen, known and loved, just the way we are.
God sees my cellulitey bum and road rage, He knows I covet my best friend’s designer wardrobe and toned thighs. He’s aware of my control issues and fear of failing.
Yet He loves me anyway.
The trouble is, however much I know it in my head, I just can’t seem to feel it in my heart. Not really. Not as much as I want to.
My heads a stubborn place and the chances are, yours is too. It’s as if God’s love gets stuck there, gathering dust, unable to trickle down to our hearts to work its healing, give us peace, comfort us and bring us joy.
It’s SOOOO frustrating.
I don’t just want to know about God’s love. I want to feel it. Feel its warmth spread through me, clutch me tightly and never let me go.

How about you? Are you with me in this, or are you one of those people I secretly envy who gets all warm, fuzzy and teary-eyed every time God’s name is mentioned? If you are, I’m so pleased for you (in a green eyed kind of way).
If you’re like me, then read on friend, this is important and will hopefully change your life like it’s changing mine.
When our world’s been rocked by a life altering diagnosis, thrown into turmoil by the loss of someone irreplaceable, or even in the hard grind of paying bills, raising kids and keeping a marriage together, it’s easy to doubt God’s love for us when we can’t tangibly see it and feel it.
Surely if He loved me I wouldn’t feel like poop and life wouldn’t stink so much?
I’m not the kind of girl whose mind shifts nimbly and adjusts to new thinking patterns with ease. Some might call me slow to catch on, but I’ve found my stubborn brain responds much better to the drip, drip, little and often approach to any kind of change in mind set. So I thought I’d see if it would work in helping God’s love sink from my grey matter to where it matters most; my heart.
In February I ran the Know His Love Challenge on Instagram. Each day I posted a verse to reminded us how high, wide, deep and long His love for us is. As the month went by, each verse soothing our souls day by day, our hearts began to feel His love a little more.
Now all those verses are combined into a love letter from God called My Dear Sweet Child.
Written entirely in bible verses it’s dripping with His love for you, His precious child. I can’t tell you how much I love this letter. You’ve just got to read it – it will change your life like it’s changed mine.
However, if you’re anything like me sitting, still is not one of giftings, so I made an AUDIO DOWNLOAD for us.
I LOVE IT!!!
You can download it onto your phone and listen to it in the car, on a run, or even picking up a gallon of milk at the supermarket. Isn’t that wild? You can be waiting in traffic and have God’s love being read over you.
I’ve even been told my English accent sounds intelligent – what a bonus!!
As you listen or read these verses, I pray the words of love God speaks over you seep into the deepest nooks and crannies of your heart and melt away the pain, mend your broken places, and set you free to feel the outrageous depth of His unending love.
Let the words wash over you. Breath it in. Inhale His love and exhale the lie you’re the exception and this isn’t true for you.
Inhale His love
In hale His love
Exhale grief, pain and loss.
Inhale His love for you,
Exhale shame and guilt
Inhale His love and truth
Exhale the lies.
