I’ve spent years telling people about God’s love. How ridiculously, brilliantly, marvelously, ginormously amazing and unconditional it is.
I’m a bit of a broken record on this one, can you tell?
I know He loves you like that – and me too.
The problem is, I rarely feel it.
I know it in my head, just not in my heart.
I don’t feel it like I long to. Do you? Do you feel God’s love as much as you crave to?
I don’t, and in fact I’m jealous of people who do.
I ache to feel its tender caress, breathe in its comforting aroma, and hear its melody. I long to be shaken by its power and left breathless by the intensity of its embrace.
Do you too? Are you aching to feel His love more than you do?

How about you? Do you feel you’re missing out on the warm fuzzies? All head and no heart?
Jonathan Edwards in his sermon Divine and Supernatural Light, uses a great illustration that nails exactly how I feel. He says,
“your mind can know honey is sweet, people can tell you it’s sweet, you’ve read books about it, etc. but if you haven’t actually tasted it, you know with your head, but not with your heart. When you actually taste it, you experience it for yourself, you know it in a full way, and you can know it in your heart.”
I want to feel it.
I want to taste it.
Do you want to taste its sweetness on your tongue? Do you dream of knowing God’s ridiculously enormous love for you all the way down to the tips of your pedicure and deep in the soft, squishy bits of your heart?
It can be so frustrating can’t it; having His loved camped out in our heads, stubbornly refusing to sink to our hearts where it can do its healing, encouraging work? I’ve been struggling with this so much. My cold, dry head knowledge just isn’t enough anymore, so I decided to do something about it. Do you want to join me?
If you do, I have two Valentine’s gifts for us this year.
It is the month of Lurrrvvv after all and this girl is a sucker for love and mush.
Firstly, I’ve been posting verses that scream of God’s love on Instagram everyday in the Know His Love Challenge* . The idea is to soak in their truth a little bit each day, letting them marinate, so His love can sink to our hearts and come home.
Without meaning to sound all hippy chick here, but what a different world it could be if we all knew God’s love in the inner world of our hearts. What a different world it could be if we all knew God's love in the inner world of our hearts. My second Valentine’s Gift for you is a Love Letter from God written entirely in bible verses. All these verses string together into a beautiful love letter written by God. It’s dripping with love, acceptance and passion and it’s my gift to you. You can download it for FREE, just click on the image, then carry it on your phone or in your bag, frame it, or do whatever you need to do to help it sink to the raw vulnerable places of your heart.
My prayer is we feel His love as much as we know it. And if you don’t know His love friend, I pray this letter speaks to you.
In this month of love, let’s dive into the greatest love of all and feel it, not just know it.
* These verses were compiled and put into the love letter by an unknown source.
